The Great Outdoors! Little Blue Trace Trail – Independence, MO
After the below 0 temps it was like a heatwave rolled in and we Sinthusys did what we love to do…GET OUTSIDE!
We were so blessed to have gorgeous weather this past weekend. My family took the opportunity to get out of the house and get active! We always try and make time every day for fun “active time” (doesn’t always happen). Saturday afternoon the kids went jogging with me, only they were riding their 4 wheeler. They would each take turns getting off and running with me but it was great to get them out of the house for some much needed outside time. I did however discover that the 4 wheeler doesn’t have very high speeds – so it was more of a fast walk/ slow jog for me, but I love these times with my kids. I know that as soon as I blink twice they will be going off to college!
After Church on Sunday we spent the time cleaning and organizing the kids’ rooms – in our house if you have a room, clothes or toys then it’s your responsibly to take care of these items! I know how it goes, you can spend all day cleaning just to have the (kid) tornado (Kailee , Kobe and Kash) hit and destroy all progress in less than 30 seconds…been there! Since I have no desire to spend every waking moment of my life continuously picking up after my family we have enlisted them into the process. What is their “reward” for such hard work….a nice long jog/stroll with their mama, 4 miles! By stroll, I mean the kids. They take turns, if needed, jumping in the stroller while I’m running. My 5 year is ok, most days but still likes to take a few breaks here and there and my 3 year old is now able to run about 2.5 -3 miles! I can’t express how much active family activities connect our family. It’s so great to be able to connect with the kids and to enjoy being together!
There are days when you just need to say forget about the laundry, forget about where I should go and get outside with the family and take a walk, jog or both. If you haven’t yet discovered Little Blue Trace Trail, check it out!
See you on the trail!
